Bayelsa Man Commits Suicide Over Wife’s Alleged Infidelity

A man in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state committed suicide over his wife’s alleged infidelity.
The deceased, who has two children, reportedly drank an insecticide called Sniper, after finding out the news, Vanguard reports.
According to the report, an eyewitness stated:
On Monday, the husband went to fetch vegetable in large quantities for his wife to sell. After harvesting the vegetable, the husband told the wife to return home after market to prepare dinner for the family.

In an interview with Sahara TV yesterday, the General Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, said he is not expecting to be appointed a minister in President Buhari's cabinet.
"As far as I am concerned, I am not expecting to be named a minister. If I am offered an appointment, when I get to that bridge I will cross it. I am already a minister of the gospel. Ministry is my calling and my life. The word minister means servant. When you expect nothing, you cannot be disappointed. Boko Haram Slits Throats of 10 Fishermen Near Lake Chad

Boko Haram insurgents on Monday slit the throats of ten fishermen in villages near Baga on the shores of the Lake Chad.
Abubakar Gamandi, head of the fishermen’s union in Borno State, confirmed the news, Yahoo News reports.
An eyewitness stated:
“The Boko Haram gunmen came around 4:00 pm and they attacked three villages (that are five kilometres/three miles from Doron Baga). They slit the throats of 10 people…
Boko Haram decided not to use guns so as not to attract the attention of soldiers from Baga. This is why they used knives to slaughter their victims.”

P’Harcourt, Warri refineries commence petroleum production – NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC says the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries have commenced petroleum production after some in-house engineers conducted a nine-month rehabilitation on both facilities.

The oil corporation announced this in a statement released by its General Manager, Public Affairs Division, Mr Ohi Alegbe yesterday. The statement in part reads
“What this means is that both plants have resumed production of petroleum products. For now, about 60 per cent of its 210,000 barrels per day production capacity is being achieved, but it is projected that it will hit its installed 125,000 barrels per day capacity soon,”

Air hostess found dead in her hotel room after failing to show up for flight home from Angola

A 22-year-old British Airways stewardess died suddenly in a hotel in Angola. Emily Dunn, (circled) who had a suspected heart condition, was found dead in her room in Angola after she failed to arrive for a flight back to Heathrow, London, on July 16. 

Emily had only started with BA in May and had told friends of her 'joy' at getting her 'wings'. 

Model smuggling $134g of cocaine busted by federal border patrol cops

Mexican-born model Anett Pikula, 39, who became a U.S. Citizen in April was busted by federal border patrol officers while trying to smuggle $134,000 in cocaine at an Arizona crossing. Hoping to throw the cops off her scent, she flirted outrageously with them. Prophet Destiny Onwudinjo, a pastor of Heaven Divine Ministry, in Shasha, who was in April this year sentenced to 7 years imprisonment after he tried absconding from court during proceedings has committed suicide inside Kirikiri Prison.
 Destiny was arrested and charged to court in April after brutalizing a commercial motorcycle rider, Chika Izuogu pictured above for refusing to pay him N120,000 for deliverance prayer.

Pm news reports that Destiny died from injuries he sustained after he banged his head against the prison gates in his bid to kill himself.

Female rapist faces jail after being found guilty of running paedophile ring

A female rapist has been found guilty of running a paedophile ring which subjected five young children to sexual and physical abuse over more than a decade.
Ten people - including six women - were on trial accused of the child sex abuse which is said to have centred around Marie Black, 34, of Norwich.


She denied 26 offences at Norwich Crown Court but today, after 19 hours of deliberations and a three-month trial, the jury convicted her of all but three counts.
She was found guilty of offences including rape, conspiracy to rape and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

US Government gave Buhari names of oil thieves - Source

According to a report by Punch, the US government handed over the names of Nigerian oil thieves to President Buhari during his last trip to the country. A member of the President’s entourage during the trip told the newspaper;

16yr old kills 4yr old boy in Lagos, removes his intestines, kidney & penis (graphic photo)

A 16-year-old boy named Tajudeen Azeez, lured his 4 year old neighbor to a primary school in the Ijaniki area of Lagos, stabbed him, strangled him and removed his intestines, his kidney and cut off his penis. He did because a man named Osho had approached him and asked him to get him fresh human parts and would pay him N50,000. N50,000 is what a human is worth to some. N50k. Unbelievably sad!
"At first, I did not want to succumb to the temptation but it kept coming. When I woke up this morning (Monday), I saw Ibrahim at the back of the house. I told him to escort me to a primary school not too far from the house. The name of the school is Anglican Primary School, Ijanikin. He followed me to the place and on arrival there, I stabbed him with a knife from behind. He fell down and I strangled him with a rope. I then cut his stomach open with the knife. I am sorry for what I did,”

Muammar Gaddafi's son sentenced to death over war crimes

A court in Libya has sentenced one of the sons of former Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and eight others to death over war crimes committed during the 2011 revolution.

Saif al-Islam and others were standing trial for suppressing protests during the political uprising in Libya in 2011 after Libyans revolted against the government of Ghadaffi who was killed in October 2011. Saif al-Islam was not present in court and gave evidence via video link. He is being held by a former rebel group from the town of Zintan that have refused to release him.

WAEC to Withhold Results of Students in 19 States Over Outstanding Debts

The West Africa Examinations Council, WAEC has threatened to withhold the results of students in 19 states that sat for the May/June 2015 WASSCE over nonpayment of candidates’ registration fees by their state governments.

Different state Governments had pledged to pay the WAEC fees of their state residents as part of their education policy but have so far failed to do so.

Oshiomhole Alleges that a Minister Stole $6 Billion During Jonathan’s Tenure

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has alleged that a minister that served in former president Jonathan's administration stole a whooping $6billion. Governor Oshiomole made the allegation while speaking to state house correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari yesterday.

From what I have seen so far, we need very patriotic Nigerians to be ministers; Nigerians that can work very hard with knowledgeable experience; committed Nigerians to be in charge of ministries. A lot of institutions in Nigeria are compromised, everybody for himself and God for all of us. It is most unfortunate. We have people, educated and experienced people, but everybody seems to be working for himself on how much they could get away with as soon as possible.

Dieziani Alison-Madueke is ill & in UK hospital - Family says

Family members of the immediate past minister of Petroleum resources, Dieziani Alison-Madueke say she is currently ill and at a UK hospital receiving treatment. A family member revealed this to Leadership Newspaper
"Our daughter has been in hospital where is receiving treatment for some weeks now. She is currently under close medical observation. We learnt that the observation means that she has been unable to see anyone outside close family members over the last few weeks.

Boko Haram: Presidency reportedly begins negotiating with terrorists

There are reports that the presidency has started negotiations with Boko Haram. This comes a week after president Buhari told CNN's Christine Amanpour that his govt will negotiate with the terrorist sect for the release of Chibok girls if they are assured of the credibility of the leadership of the sect they will be negotiating with.

3 people arrested for diverting N40m USAID drugs

The police in Lagos State have arrested 3 suspected thieves, Emmanuel Onyike, 51; Alabi Daudu, 68; and Paul Aina, 58 for  allegedly diverting a container loaded with pharmaceutical drugs, valued at N40m, to the Igando area of the state.

It was gathered that the suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad attached to Zone 2, on Saturday, July 18.

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike says if President Buhari was really serious about his fight against corruption, he must start by probing the administration of former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi. Stephen Keshi demands N1billion compensation from NFF

Sacked Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi is demanding N1billion compensation from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for defaming him. According to Vanguard, Keshi has dragged the NFF to court for “wrongful dismissal and defamation”. A top source told said
“Keshi’s lawyers have demanded for a billion Naira from the NFF as compensation for defaming their client.”
A letter from Keshi's lawyers was sent to NFF on Friday July 24th. Keshi was sacked by the NFF on July 5 just four months after he'd signed a new two-year contract to coach the Super Eagles.
