The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Jonathan Ibinabo Alatoru, a self-acclaimed pastor and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Chemtronics Nigeria Limited, for conspiracy, forgery and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N200 million. The suspect, who had earlier jumped the administrative bail granted him by the Commission, was arrested by operatives of EFCC in a sting operation on Thursday, November 26, 2015, in Abuja.

Buhari Approves Appointment of 30 Federal High Court Judges
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of 30 new judges for the Federal High Court on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the NJC Acting Director (Information), Soji Oye.
The statement said that the new judges would be sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed on Dec. 2.

Cross River Native Doctor Arrested for Abducting Minors & Sexually Abusing Them for 4 Years
Two female children who are 11 years
old, were rescued from the clutches of a wicked native doctor in Cross
River state, who abducted them for years ago and sexually abused them
consistently.
The native doctor, 42-year-old Emmanuel Akpan Okon, was arrested by the police following a tip-off about his business of preparing charms for armed robbers, Punch reports.
NNPC blames fuel scarcity on vandals, corrupt oil marketers
The NNPC in a statement to the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream
in Abuja, said that the Senate had given it a two-week ultimatum to end
the fuel scarcity.

Diezani Reportedly Set to Visit TB Joshua’s Synagogue for Healing
According to International Business Times, Nigeria’s embattled former petroleum minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, who has breast cancer, is set to return to Nigeria to visit TB Joshua‘s Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) to seek healing.
The report further states, “Joshua
and his worshippers have claimed the preacher performs miracles and is
able to heal people. According to his official biography, Joshua has

Farmer jailed for biting off another man's lip
A 35-year-old farmer, Adebayo Olaniyi, was
on Tuesday sentenced to a total of 3 years and 3 months imprisonment by
an Odo-Owa Area Court, Kwara State on two counts of assault.
The Judge, Mr.
Abolade Banigbe, in his ruling, sentenced Olaniyi to three months
imprisonment with an option of N 1,000 fine on the first count and three years imprisonment on the second count with an option of N 13,000 fine.

Presidential jets: Buhari spent only N2b not N6b for maintenance -Presidency
The presidency has vehemently refuted the reports in several quarters
that a huge sum of N6b had been lavished on the Maintenance of
presidential Air fleet (PAF) in the last 6 months.
The presidency spoke through the Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Shehu in a statement said that only N2.3b had been spent contrary to the figures making the rounds.

Buhari seeks Senate approval to borrow N2.10 trn
President Muhammadu Buhari, has sent a supplementary appropriation bill for the 2015 fiscal year to the Senate for approval.
The president, in a letter conveying his request, which was read Wednesday, during plenary, by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, asked the Senate to grant his request to borrow the sum of N2.10 trillion to finance the budget.
He explained that the N882 billion loan earlier proposed by the past government to finance the budget had to be raised to N2.10 trillion, due to emerging realities in the country.
The source of the loan, according to the president, would be from both local and foreign.
The president, in a letter conveying his request, which was read Wednesday, during plenary, by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, asked the Senate to grant his request to borrow the sum of N2.10 trillion to finance the budget.

MTN Uganda fined $662, 000 for sabotaging business
Uganda's Commercial court has ordered MTN Uganda to pay a sum of Shs
2.3bn (about $662,000) which is about N190 million in damages to
EzeeMoney Limited for sabotaging its business. It all started when
EzeeMoney, which runs an e-money business, obtained a contract from MTN
for the provision of digital transmission [E1] and 30 fixed telephone
lines to carry out its mobile money business.
‘You have no power to summon me’- former EFCC boss, Lamorde tells Senate
The immediate past chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde has told the senate
committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions that they do not
have the powers to invite him for an investigation as he is no longer
the chairman of the anti-graft agency. The senate committee is currently
investigating allegations that Lamorde diverted N1 billion of recovered
stolen funds during his tenure.

Fuel scarcity: Kachiukwu orders DPR to sell off fuel of erring fuel stations for free to Nigerians
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachiukwu yesterday
ordered the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, to sell off for
free, the petroleum products of any fuel station that is caught hoarding
petrol during this period of fuel scarcity. He gave the order after a
working visit to some retail outlets in Abuja.
“I have instructed DPR that if they discover any fuel station involved in hoarding, they should sell the products for free to customers around there. It is not just sealing the station that is the answer. It is penalizing them when they do these things and I hope the message goes out loud and clear,” he said

Controversial South African pastor, Penuel Mnguni, of the End Time
Disciples Ministries was beaten up by some angry South African youths in
Mmakaunyane Village in the North Western part of South Africa last week
Sunday November 15th. During the attack, the youths burnt down his
church and tied him and a member of his church up with rope.
