One Direction to split for 'at least a year to focus on solo projects'

One Direction are set to take their first break next year, according to national media reports.
According to The Sun newspaper the group are set to take at least " a year off" to work on their own projects.Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Derby County fan Niall Horan have been together for five years, since they formed on TV talent show X Factor.
The band was rocked by the departure of Zayn Malik who left in March but the hiatus was said to be planned whether or not Malik left the band.A source told The Sun: "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boy band."They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects."There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100% behind the decision."It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future."According to the BBC there will be no tour for the band's fifth album and their last full concert will be at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena on October 31 at the moment.The group will have a break over Christmas before getting back together to finish promoting their new album in February.They have nine more North American dates followed by another 25 concerts in the UK and Ireland including six at London's O2 Arena.
