Oil-Bearing Vessel Explodes At Lagos Port

A ship carrying petroleum product on Wednesday exploded and caught fire at the Tin Can Island Port of Lagos.

The vessel is believed to belong to MRS petroleum.

Confirming the incidence, official of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said a fuel tanker caught fire after exploding at the Tin Can Island port in Apapa area of Lagos.

Businesses in the area, particularly affected buildings, closed to avoid causalities as fire fighters battled the fire.
