Nigeria wins second gold medal in London Paralympic Games

Nigeria’s Ivory Nwokorie today won a gold medal in the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the women’s – 44kg powerlifting event, lifting an incredible 109kg.

Another Nigerian, Yakubu Adesokan, had won gold on Thursday in the 48 kg weight categories lifting 180 kg to set Nigeria on the path of glory.

Nigeria’s Ikechukwu Obichukwu on Friday won silver in the men’s 52kg powerlifting event while Anthony Ulonnam won silver in the 56kg men’s category.

Delighted by her win, Ivory gushed, “I’m very, very happy. I have made my country proud.”

Despite failing to improve on her first lift, it was to be more than enough towin her the gold, Nigeria’s second for Powerlifting in two days, london2012.com reports.

....Hope all the athletes that participated in the olympics can see this...we are all under the same government they were blaming.
